AND FOR PARENTS

FGR is a condition where a fetus does not grow as expected. The most common cause is that the placenta cannot provide the baby with everything it needs to grow. This condition can cause serious health problems for the baby, especially if it starts already early in the pregnancy.

FOR HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS

FGR diagnosed at or before 32 weeks of gestational age is called early-onset FGR. It differs from late-onset FGR not only in its timing but also in its link to preeclampsia,  the patterns and severity of placental dysfunction, clinical manifestations and adverse outcomes, and the dilemmas of iatrogenic preterm birth.
