International Fetal Growth Conference 2024

From October 17 to 19, we had the opportunity to travel to Warsaw with a group of Dutch researchers – gynecologists and PhD-students – for the Fetal Growth Conference.

As keynote speakers, Wessel Ganzevoort and Sanne Gordijn shared their knowledge and insights with other experts in the field of fetal growth restriction. They presented on the monitoring of early growth restriction (including the introduction of the SAVE FGR study) and evaluated the definition on fetal growth restriction, which they published eight years ago in collaboration with various other experts. Our other researchers also had the chance to present their work on topics such as long-term outcomes (like school performance), the reliability of Doppler measurements, the relationship between placental weight and birth weight, growth curves, and the different predictive factors related to fetal growth restriction, including results from the OPTICORE study.

Worldwide research and cases were shared, and there were plenty of opportunities to network in beautiful Warsaw. It was a valuable and educational experience to exchange knowledge with other experts, all with the same goal: improving care for the little ones.

In conclusion, the congress was a great success, and we are already looking forward to next year!

We are thankful to the organization of the congress (by the Perinatal Instutite) and, of course, everyone from the Dutch researchers: Wessel Ganzevoort, Sanne Gordijn, Renée Burger, Laura Lens, Leah Prins, Mariëlle Bruins, Mariëlle van Roekel and Judith Kooiman.
